Kathy Liu

Kathy Liu is a Sydney based painter working in a primarily abstract method which gives the opportunity for a possible narrative to occur during the process. The artwork acts as a window into the artist’s subconscious mind, revealing fragments of her childhood memories, her love of mythology and her desire for poetry. Due to her chance-based artmaking process, most of her artworks are imbued with a sense of ambiguity. This intentionally allows for the meaning of the artwork to be open ended, leaving the painting to be completed through the viewer’s own interpretation.
